Echo

Christmas
Christmas
I do not know how do you feel about it but Christmas is always passed before I notice it... Usuall I am just drifting with the flow between Christmas and New Year's Eve. I feel like living in Dali's Time is melting in this days.

Colourful Advent

I met with my friends from indafoto on Thuesday. The meeting point was at Deák square (it is the core of the city) and we planned a short walk in the biggest and most famous Advent Market of Budapest.
After a short conversation and a cup of hot wine we started taking photos. I can not tell much about the event. I think everybody knows exactly the atmosphere of this kind of markets: the scent of mulled wine, fried sausage, scone and bugler cake mingle with the fragrance of incenses. I love the colours of the lights and gifts. Really exciting forms, lights, bokehs are there.
I finish the writing because the pictures are much more efficient to show you the feeling.

All Souls' Day

Between memories
Between memories
I am late... I have so many things to do so I am late with everything. I had no time to write this post until now.
I have never been in the cementery after dark before. This year I was twice. Second time my friends Irma, Tibor, Gyuri and Dani were with me. Irma has brought her husband too.

I met Réka and Zoli in a forest near to Budapest on a sunny Saturday. I was on a trip wit my friends from Indafoto (it is a Hungarian photoshareing page: www.indafoto.hu/edaniel). Our leader had given us a task we had to take one picture which had to be uploaded into our gallery. I decided that I would kill two birds with one stone. So asked them to participate in my project. They agreed. So here they are.
Thank you Réka and Zoli!

Matt from youtube (I am talking about Where the hell is Matt) danced in the Castle of Buda today. There were a lot of people there because of that. I met there Noémi and Anett too.
When I asked them to be my models they agreed so I took a few pictures of them.
Thank you girls!

Stranger Nr7

As I mentioned I had a busy Wednesday... I was late from the dance wit WherethehellisMatt but I managed to capture four strangers. To tell the truth there were eight people but they were some kind of couples. It is my new record.
The seventh were Anna and János. They were there because of Matt. I hope they could dance in the official film. They asked me to record them with Matt so they have a personal video.

100 strangers, 100 Personalities, 100 Stories in 365 days

Matt from youtube danced in Budapest today.
I decided to see the event and I brought my camera too. Unfortunately I was late the recording of the dance but I had luck with my 365 days project.
I met with Joe and Charles in the Castle. They agreed to participate in my 100 strangers project. So I took some pictures of them. The focus on the photos was not the best but I did not want to miss this picture from my collection. I will be more precise next time.

Here is the photo:

A Mastermind left us

I am not a huge Apple fan but the news schocked me. Steve Jobs, one of the biggest pioneers of the modern information technology died. He was 56. I do not wan to speak a lot. People who know much more about him than me will do it. I just wanted to share you a speach of him. I heard it before and it was impressed me.
Rest in peace Mr. Jobs!

100 strangers, 100 Personalities, 100 Stories in 365 days

I had an idea... it began with an article on the flickr blog a few weeks ago. I decided that I would do it. As Barney Stinson would say "Cahllenge accepted!". I decided that I would do it within 365 days. It's not an impossible mission. I have to ask a stranger to be my model in each 3,65 days and I have to persuade him or her to tell me something about his/her life.... Would it be difficult? Eventually we live in a big city (in Hungarian scale) where people don't speak to each other and they are mistrustful... Our parents taught us not to speak to strangers...
This will be my challenge in the next 364 days. Plus I don't want to be boring and I'd like to introduce many different people. We will see...

So I met this girl yesterday and the countdown was started. She read a book from Vavyan Fable (a Hungarian writer) in a small park between the Western Railway Station and a new office building. We spoke about school and job (I have to improve my subjects!) than she approved a photo although she doesn't like to be photographed. Than we said goodbye.

It wasn't easy. I was embarrassed but the photo was taken thanks for Stranger Nr1!

Birth of a building 1 - Construction pit shoring/preliminary works

This series will show you one of my first construction. This topic is a bit far from the title of the blog but this is a part of me too. So I will give you photos and descriptions about the works.
I can follow the formation of the built environment from the first line because of my job. In my posts I will inform you about a birth of a building in Budapest. I hope you will enjoy it.

Lets see...

We would like to built a 10 m deep construction pit in the middle of Budapest. It won't be an easy task because there are residential, diplomatic buildings and offices in the neighborhood.

Normafa

Tibor asked me whether I had liked to join them to take a short excursion to Normafa. I had... Normafa is a popular place in Budapest. It is in the hills of Buda. It has a nice panorama to the city. I really recommend taking a short trip there if you visit Budapest.
We met on Moszkva square (it's new name is Széll Kálmán square but the most people call it just Moszkva). Gyuri was late... a lot... After he got there we took the bus (21) to Normafa.

Visiting Budapest Zoo

Two weeks ago Tibor (vlm) called me. He wanted to know if I was available the following weekend for a short trip to the Budapest Zoo. We got free tickets together with National Geographic DVDs. I had been to  the Zoo in February but I wanted to look around when my fingers do not freeze after two exposures.

First post

Hi,

I am Daniel form Budapest, Hungary. I am 26 years old and I like photography and traveling as you may suspected it from the title of the blog. I take pictures since last August. I have lot of things to learn but I am thirtsty for the knowledge.
I decided to begin an English blog to reach people over the borders of Hungary and to practice English. I have a Hungarian blog already called "Fotózás és utazás" and I will write its twin.
If you are interested in amateur photography, in traveling then you might enjoy my posts. I have a series on my Hungarian blog. It is a little bit different subject... I am following a construction in Budapest. The title of this series is "Birth of a building". It is important to me because I am a civil engineer and this construction is my first one. I hope you will find it exciting.

I have plenty to do to design this blog so I will post again soon.
